Big SURmazing

Hopefully you caught my post about our recent trip to San Francisco... Now hear about how we got home!

Driving the coast (Big Sur) has been on our Bucket List for this year in LA ever since we well, ever since we made our LA Bucket List! On Friday we began discussing renting a car for Sunday. Tyler's cousins live in San Fran and my high school friend, TK, lives in Mountain View and we knew we wanted to connect with them. Tyler had already experienced a cable car ride and never wanted to do that again. We also experienced a taxi ride with a scary Russian who did not appreciate Tac banging his sippy cup on every surface in the back of his vehicle. And damn it, I brought a car seat all the way from LA and I was going to put it to use. Also, tac had a terrible time getting sleep in our shared hotel room.

Many reasons and boy was the drive unbelievable!!!

Tessa suggested we spend the night Saturday night in Half Moon Bay, south of San Fran. It turns out that Tessa, Mike, and their beloved Bernese Mountain Dog attend the BMdog festival annually which happens to be located in Half Moon Bay! So After the Dirty hippie fest we drove to HMB and spent the night. The next morning we were able to catch Tk and family at the beach for a nice reunion before continuing our day. We also made a pit stop at a Pumpkin patch (We found out... is the location for the BMD festival and farmer John is the founder of the fest). Did you know that this area of coastline is known for its pumkins? Me neither. Horses, crops, and cows those are the property owners of this gorgeous coastline. I am pretty proud that there exists some coastline that is not commercial. (ok, well the farmers are business men but they are not in commercial real estate!)

I am going to stop talking now about the beautiful drive except to list the wildlife we saw and let you see for yourselves.
8-10 whales!!!
dolphins
maybe a shark?
seals
elephant seals
tons of birds
