Cravings

Apple Pie Crock Pot Style:

I give this pie 1.5 days before it is devoured!
Turn that crock pot on
high: 1-2hrs
low-3 or so hrs
Cut/peeled apples- about 4 (i used giant figi #3)
1C apple sauce
1 Tbl cinnamon
dash of nutmeg
1/4C brown sugar
1/4C w sugar
I used flour to thicken instead of corn starch- about 1Tbl
1Tbl butter
some people use a squirt of lemon
put it in your pot, stir, and walk away
Store bought pie crusts #2
375 oven heat one crust for 15 or less until golden
flatten second crust cut in strips so you can weave. OR use cookie cutters to make shapes- YAY!
pour crock pot mix into pie crust and add your second crust however  you like on top (you will have A Lot of liquid from your apples. I used maybe a quarter of the total liquid mixed with the flour and apples as my filling. That means you get to save the rest of the juice for things like ICE CREAM topping!
yes please!!
I cooked 375 for 20 minutes or so I tend to bake with my nose (risky, I know)

Easiest pot-pie EVER

Ohh no! There is a mistake in my lattice! Gasp! Two mistakes....shhhh! I'm going to fix it right now...NOT!

Ingredients:
2 frozen pie crusts (I tried whole wheat on the one pictured)
Whatever frozen veggies you want (peas, carrots, corn, celery, potatoes..asparagus....)
My MIL uses potatoes- might as well get you some of them frozen cubed ones, right!?
Cream of mushroom soup- I just picked some up from whole foods ( I've not tried canned)
Rotisserie chicken- yup, the kind that's already cooked!
I used maybe 3 drummies and one breast

Preheat oven 350

Ok y'all directions:
Shred that chicken
Mix frozen veggies and gravy (mushroom soup)
Put it allll together in the pie shell
Ok lattice-- cut the other pie shell into strips
And weave them on top of your mixing
Cook 350 degrees about an hour or so
Eat!

Need something salty and sweety in a pinch? Satisfy that craving!!
Salty sweet sambos
Per sandwich:
2 ritz crackers
4 dark chocolate chips
1 banana slice
Microwave for about 10 seconds
Eat!!!

And, speaking of bananas....
Let's transform this standard banana bread recipe into something less guilt ridden!
Banana bread muffins (or loaf)
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3-4 mashed bananas
3/4 cup white sugar (I like raw sugar)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter (softened)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup nuts if you like

Now for the revamp!! GUESS WHAT YOU CAN USE ANY FRUIT OR VEGGIE
(peach, zucchini, apple, cherry, carrot.........)
More better banana muffins:
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3-4 mashed bananas
1 cup apple sauce = sugar
1 cup greek yogurt = fat
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup nuts if you like
(If you find you need some additional liquid add up to a 1/2C of almond milk) Now, mash them nanners and combine with your wet ingredients!
Then, add them dry ingredients, pour in your baking shape of choice, and cook for 'bout 15-18minutes (if you added liquid add some time). Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon, raw sugar, spray with EVOO.
EAT!
Picture to come--- dear blogosphere, this picture upload situation could be better. Thanks
